• • Certificate of Graduation (or Prospective Graduation) for School Equivalent to a Japanese High School*

    The certificate of graduation (or prospective graduation) must include the school’s official seal or signature.

• • Academic Transcript*

    Please submit grades/marks from last two or more years of high school. Academic transcripts must include the school’s official seal or signature.

• • Certified Scores from National Exams*

    Please check the document above to see qualifications by country and what documents must be submitted. Applicants who fall under eligibility category 2 must submit their scores from one of the standardized or national examinations. This document does not cover all countries’ information.
    Note: For applicants who have not graduated from their high schools at the time of application, we expect them to submit the latest academic records/results, predicted scores or forecast of the final results with their application.

• • Standardized Test Scores*

    Submit scores from a standardized examination. Applicants who fall under eligibility category 2 must submit their scores from one of the standardized or national examinations. Official scores should be sent to the Admissions Office, directly by the testing institution.

• • English Language Proficiency Test Score*

    Please submit scores/proof of the English proficiency requirement. Applicants who have received less than four years of education in a middle/secondary or high/upper secondary school in which English is the primary language of instruction must submit an English proficiency test score. Official scores should be sent directly from the testing institution by the deadline.

• • Two Essays

    Upload the two required essays on the online admissions system. Essay questions can be found on the last page of the admission requirements. Each essay should be in Word format. Essay 1 would be about 200 to 300 words while essay 2 would be 400 to 500 words long in English.

• • Two Reference Letters
    See Appendix 2

    Submit two reference letters. Letters need to be sent directly by your referees either through the online admissions system, from the official school email address or by post. Please follow the instructions on the online admission system. If your referees prefer to submit the evaluation by post, you need to fulfill the part for applicants first and pass it to the referees.
    
    One reference must come from a teacher (Referee A) in the field (subject area) the applicant wishes to major in, and the other reference must come from a teacher or counselor (Referee B) who is able to evaluate the applicant’s character.
    
    Referees need to be employed at an accredited education institute where the applicant has been or is currently enrolled

• • Copy of Passport / Government Issued ID card and Copy of Residence Card

    Please upload this document to the Online Admission System.
    Foreign nationals who reside in Japan must submit a copy of both sides of their residence card (在留カード).

• • Nagoya University Global 30 Scholarship Application and Income Statement (for students applying for scholarships)

    When you submit your application for the G30 International Programs, you will automatically be considered as an applicant for the G30 Scholarship. Please upload both a scholarship application form and an income statement of your financial supporter on the online admissions system. The income statement should cover the annual income and be translated into English. If you have decided not to be considered for the G30 Scholarship, it is not required to submit.

The primary and final screening results will be announced on the system on the date specified on the admission requirements, so please make sure to check the results as soon as possible. Especially when we announce the primary screening result, interview details will be shown on your page including the date and the interview method and you can just reply to our invitation through the system. The interview/oral examination will take about 45 minutes for Engineering and Science programs and about 30 minutes for Social Sciences and Japan-in-Asia Cultural Studies programs. As it is important for us to receive your response, please keep checking your page even after you complete the online application.

• How to prepare for the interview?

  As a part of your interview/oral examination preparation, please take a look at the videos available in the following link to familiarize yourself with mathematics questions that will be asked during the interviews for the Engineering and Science programs.

  Pre-College Mathematics

Admission results will be announced via the Online Admissions System by the dates indicated in our admission requirements. Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list will also be notified via the Online Admissions System.

• Pay Registration Fee

  To pay the registration fee (JPY 282,000), please refer to the notification on the Online Admissions System and make payment via PayPal or Flywire (recommended) or through domestic bank transfer by the designated deadlines. The sender shall be responsible for any service charge related to bank transfers. The payment deadline for applicants who were selected as Nagoya University Global 30 Undergraduate Scholars is set earlier (see the admission requirements) scholarship recipients should confirm the information on their notifications and make the payments accordingly.
